Well, it’s seems like forever since I’ve blogged. A lot has been going on. I FINALLY was able to take those three days of vacation left over from last year. I’ve never had a 5-day weekend before & it was great!! I finished my quilting class project (photo to come later) but didn’t do too much else. One afternoon hubby took off work & we traveled 125 miles one way to get parts for the bulldozer. It was really windy, but the weather was warm and a light jacket was all that was needed – a rare thing for the first of Nov. in Montana!! I bought some quilting tools, so now I have to make use of them. Hopefullly I will get a new sewing machine for Christmas. The one I have now is about 20 yrs. old and has some serious issues!
The first three days this week have started EARLY. Three men from Tenn. came to work on our church – building an addition for 2 Sunday school rooms and a bapistry. In three days, they have it nearly “dried in” and have been working in rain, snow, and cooler than normal temperatures for this area. (You guys are TERRIFIC Wade, Shane & Todd!!) Now it will be up to the men in the church (and ladies too, I reckon) to finish the inside.
The days began early because we were asked to come & eat breakfast with the guys – and they wanted to start working at 7 am. Hubby helped out Mon. afternoon and all day Tues. He was exhausted! We also ate supper at the church with the gang. And weren’t those some terrific meals!! Baked ham on Mon., turkey on Tues. & beef roast tonite. Breakfasts were egg casseroles, grits, pancakes, toast, bacon, sausage, just to name a few. Oh, and did I mention that I baked about 5 batches of peanut butter cookies (baked in mini muffin tins & inserted with mini candy bars while still warm). Those were a big hit. I also baked some pumpkin spice mini muffins – those are fewer calories & very tasty.
Not looking forward to Thurs. & Fri. when I will have to think about lunches for work & dinners at home. But, with some planning I should be able to stay on track & not gain weight this week. Here’s hoping!!
Let’s not forget… thank a VETERAN for their service to our country, no matter what your views on war!!
